- Shocking Siphon: Violently drain the last spark of life from a corpse, dealing [16409 / 16599 / 16747 / 16941] Shock Damage over 20 seconds to all enemies around the corpse and between you and the corpse. You also gain Major Savagery and Prophecy for 20 seconds, increasing your Weapon Critical and Spell Critical rating by 2629. While slotted, your damage done is increased by 3%.
- Detonating Siphon: Violently drain the last spark of life from a corpse, dealing 16870 Disease Damage over 20 seconds to all enemies around the corpse and between you and the corpse. You also gain Major Savagery and Prophecy for 20 seconds, increasing your Weapon Critical and Spell Critical rating by 2629. When the siphon ends the corpse explodes, dealing an additional [4766 / 4818 / 4870 / 4923] Disease Damage to all enemies nearby. While slotted, your damage done is increased by 3%.
- Mystic Siphon: Violently drain the last spark of life from a corpse, dealing 16870 Shock Damage over 20 seconds to all enemies around the corpse and between you and the corpse. You also gain Major Savagery and Prophecy for 20 seconds, increasing your Weapon Critical and Spell Critical rating by 2629. While siphoning the corpse you gain [120 / 130 / 140 / 150] Health, Magicka, and Stamina Recovery. While slotted, your damage done is increased by 3%.
Shocking Siphon consumes a corpse to deal Shock Damage to all enemies near the corpse or between you and the corpse. The bond is broken if you move too far from the corpse or are physically blocked by walls or other static obstacles. It also increases your damage done while slotted. With the Detonating Siphon morph, the damage changes to Disease Damage, and the corpse will explode at the end of the siphoning, dealing additional damage. Alternatively, the Shocking Siphon morph restores your Health, Magicka, and Stamina while the bond is active.
Notes[edit]
- Detonating Siphon is a recommended morph for the Deathbringer build, while Mystic Siphon is recommended for Necromancer Initiate and Baleful Summoner.
- The Detonating Siphons corpse explode effect occurs even if you recast the ability early.
- Tethers are considered Area of Effect damage and are reduced by Major/Minor Evasion.

- This ability and its morphs will now update their hitboxes when fighting large enemies.
- These abilities no longer have a resource cost, and now scale off your highest offensive stats.
- Decreased the damage per tick by approximately 14%.
- Fixed an issue where the tether from this ability and its morphs would immediately break if you had bonuses to the ability range (like Battle Spirit) and cast it on a corpse further than 30 meters of you.
- Mystic Siphon (morph): This ability now restores 35 Magicka per tick at Rank IV, down from 75.
- Decreased the damage per tick of this ability and its morphs by approximately 20%.
- Due to many mechanical issues with the Necromancer's engagement with corpses and targeting of corpses, the following changes have been made in hopes to alleviate some of these shortcomings:
- Blastbones and its morphs' corpses will now last 6 seconds, rather than 5 seconds.
- Skeletal Mage and Spirit Mender and their morphs' corpses will now last 10 seconds, rather than 5 seconds.
- Improved the targeting areas from all tether abilities, and will now link to the corpse closest to your reticle from a much larger radius.
- Developer Comment: The goal of these changes is to help reduce situations where tether abilities do not grab a corpse in high combat load, as well as making it easier for Necromancers to feel in control of the amount of corpses on the field when utilizing their corpse generating abilities.
- Fixed an issue where casting a tether ability could sometimes cause your character to turn around and face the opposite direction you were facing.
- Fixed multiple issues with corpse targeting for Necromantic abilities such as Shocking Siphon.
- Detonating Siphon (morph): This ability's final explosion now occurs when the tether ends for any reason, rather than only if the final duration was met.
- Mystic Siphon (morph): Fixed an issue where this morph's Magicka restore was lower than the tooltip stated.
- Mystic Siphon (morph): This morph now increases your Health, Magicka, and Stamina Recovery by up to 150 while it is active, rather than restoring up to 1260 Magicka over its duration.
- This ability and its morphs now tick every .666ms over 20 seconds rather than once every .333ms over 12 seconds.
- Increased the damage per tick by approximately 30%.
