- Scatter Shot: Blast an enemy with an explosive arrow, dealing [3688 / 3728 / 3768 / 3809] Physical Damage, knocking them back 8 meters.
- Magnum Shot: Cost: 3510 Stamina.
Blast an enemy with an explosive arrow, dealing [4572 / 4623 / 4673 / 4723] Physical Damage and knocking them back 8 meters. - Draining Shot: Blast an enemy with an enchanted arrow, dealing 3811 Physical Damage and reducing their Movement Speed by 60% for 3 seconds. If the enemy is hit, you heal for [6352 / 6421 / 6491 / 6560].
Scatter Shot deals Physical Damage to the target and knocks them back 6 meters, stunning them. This is a good way of keeping melee-based enemies away from you so that you can avoid getting swarmed. It has a fairly small range (the smallest of all the Bow skills), so it mostly serves as an emergency measure, as you should on principle not be allowing enemies to get that close to you while using a bow. The Magnum Shot morph is useful if more than one enemy is getting to close, as it pushes you back as well. Alternatively, Draining Shot will restore your Health when the disorientation ends.
Notes[edit]
- In a multiplayer situation, knocking back enemies may be slightly confusing. As a matter of etiquette, it might be best to avoid using this on enemies that are already engaged with other players, unless they appear to need rescue.
- When using Magnum Shot, you should be aware of what's behind you. You can potentially knock yourself off of cliffs or into other groups of enemies. There are even a few cases where you can accidentally knock yourself through thin walls, such as locked gates and even into cages. (Most of these have been patched, but there may still be a few of them around, so it's best to avoid taking the chance.)
- The Virulent Shot set from Blackrose Prison adds damage over time to this ability.
- The Piercing Spray set from Asylum Sanctorium can cause this ability to do more damage when combined with Arrow Spray.
Patch Notes[edit]
- Magnum Shot: This ability's animation no longer breaks if used while silenced or bracing.
- Adjusted the rank progression for this morph so it reduces the cost of the ability at a smoother curve.
- Draining Shot: Redesigned this morph so it now heals you when the disorient ends.
- Adjusted the order of the Active Abilities in this skill line. They now unlock in the following order:
- Snipe
- Volley
- Magnum Shot
- Arrow Spray
- Poison Arrow
- This ability and its morphs no longer apply a 5-second disorient to enemies hit. Instead, they now apply a 1.5 second stun.
- Fixed an issue where the tooltip text on this ability and its morphs were incorrectly referring to their stun effect as a disorient.
- Fixed an issue where using Roll Dodge immediately after casting this ability or its morphs would prevent the enemy from gaining crowd control immunity after you knocked them back.
- Increased the range of this ability and its morphs to 28 meters from 10 meters.
- Developer Comment: The range was increased to be more in line with the other Bow abilities and now fits better into rotations at range.
- Fixed an issue where the stun applied from this ability and its morphs was not able to be broken until after the knock back had completed, which made it feel less responsive to CC break.
- This ability is now part of the utility category, with the below changes affect all 3 versions of the ability.
- Increased the cost to 3780 from 2970.
- Reduced the damage by approximately 10%.
- Reduced the range to 22 meters from 28 meters.
- Increased the knock back to 8 meters from 5 meters.
- Magnum Shot: This morph no longer knocks the caster back. Instead, it deals 20% more damage than the other morph, and reduces the cost to 3510.
- Draining Shot: The heal from this ability will now trigger upon dealing damage, rather than when the target is knocked back. Also decreased the heal by approximately 20%.
- Draining Shot (morph):
- This morph no longer knocks back targets hit, but instead reduces their movement speed by 60% for 3 seconds.
