Quest-Related Events[edit]
Before Small Town Problems:
- "Ohh. This one's back was not cut out for this."
Small Town Problems[edit]
If you told Clanmother Shuzura that you'd help Ezzag, he'll say:
- "What do you want? You are in Ezzag's light. This one has chores to do."
- Clan Mother Shuzura sent me to help you with your problem.
- "Problem? Make that problems. Chickens eaten by predators, horses down with disease, and the damned fields!
Which problem are you here to solve, moons-blessed savior of Ezzag's humble farm?"
Ezzag's Bandits[edit]
If you're continuing to speak to him from Small Town Problems he'll say:
- "So, Jone and Jode have chosen you to solve Ezzag's problem. Which problem are you here to solve?"
- Shuzura said something about your crops?
Otherwise, he'll say:
- "What do you want? You are in Ezzag's light. This one has chores to do."
- I was told someone is stealing your crops.
Either way...
- "You've seen the fields here, on the stead? Well, crops keep disappearing in the night. Plants just don't up and walk away!
Shuzura keeps telling Ezzag it's just children playing pranks, but he has lost half his crop this week!" - What can I do?
- "It's bandits, damn it! Thugs and hooligans are taking Ezzag's crop.
Head down to the field! Find their hideout, kill their leader. Bring me his head!" - I'll look around.
Asking him about his crops:
- "Ahh … on second thought do not bring Ezzag a severed head. He would almost certainly throw up."
- What crops are you growing here?
- "Eh? What does it matter? Ezzag grows moon-sugar, of course. It's a common staple in Reaper's March. We trade it with other villages, and sell it in the markets of Dune.
Have you ever had moon-sugar encrusted ham? Delicious!"
Investigate and return to him:
- "So? Ezzag was right, right? It was not children?"
- You were right, Ezzag. There were bandits stealing your crops.
- "Hah! Ezzag knew it. That Shuzura, thinks she is so smart. Did you deal with them? Is their leader lying in a puddle of blood, somewhere?"
- Don't worry, they won't bother you again.
- "Ha ha! You have made Ezzag's day. No, his week! Ezzag shall name the next barn he raises in your honor."
- Thank you, Ezzag. Anything else I can do for you?
- "Not for Ezzag … but his niece Kalari just inherited his brother's home. She has said there is something wrong with it … ghosts?
Perhaps you help her, as you did Ezzag." - I'll help Kalari next. / I'll help Milk Eyes next.
- "Good! Now get gone. Ezzag has many chores to do, and has already spent too much time jawing with you."
If you already helped everyone else:
- Thank you, Ezzag. Anything else I can do for you?
- "No, Ezzag is happy now. You have saved him from the bandits. Perhaps you go back to the Clan Mother, tell her how nice Ezzag has been to you, yes?"
- I'll head back, then. (Leads to quest completion dialogue)
If he is the last person you finished helping and you exit out of the conversation before turning in the quest, he will alternatively say:
- "This one has found it is best not to keep Shuzura waiting.
He is just saying." - Good to know. (Lead to quest completion dialogue)
Rat Problems[edit]
If you choose to help Milk Eyes next, you can accept the quest from Ezzag:
- "Milk Eyes. Dead on the ground, gnawed by rats? Does Ezzag have to carve you a picture in the sand?"
- Do you know where I can find Milk Eyes?
- "His home is just up the hill behind this one's farm. Make sure when you see Milk-Eyes, you tell him he still owes Ezzag for their last match."
- I will.
Haunting of Kalari[edit]
If you choose to help Kalari next, you can accept the quest from Ezzag:
- "Go, go. Kalari should not have to deal with her father's legacy alone."
- What do you know of her problem?
- "Apparently her house is haunted. She's Ezzag's niece, so normally I'd be suspicious. Shiftless family ties, you know? But she's a good sort. Never known her to lie, and a sweet lass to boot."
- I'll tell her you're thinking about her.
Loose Ends[edit]
Once you finish helping all the villagers, he can give you the quest:
- "What are you still doing here? Shuzura will be wanting you there now, not when you feel like it."
- I'll go speak to Clan Mother Shuzura.
- "Fine! I'm sure she'll want to thank you for solving my problem, enough though she wouldn't have given me the time of day. Bah!"
- I'll be on my way then.
Speaking to him again after accepting this quest will yield his initial dialogue once more.
- "What are you still doing here? Shuzura will be wanting you there now, not when you feel like it."
After all the objectives are done, he'll only say:
- "Congratulations. You are a true hero."
The Fires of Dune[edit]
If you help S'ren-ja before arriving in Dune, he'll be there to greet you:
- "S'ren-ja salutes you, walker."
