Ruination increases your Weapon and Spell Damage.
Notes[edit]
- Prior to Update 11, this skill was called "Flame Talent", and only increased Flame Damage. This update changed the name to "Destructive Ancestry" and added Frost and Lightning Damage. Update 21 then changed it to its current name and replaced the elemental damage boosts with a simple increase to all Weapon and Spell Damage.
Patch Notes[edit]
- Ranks II and III of this passive ability now provide the correct amount of spell damage bonus to fire attacks.
- Updated this tooltip to state that it increases all abilities dealing Flame Damage, not just abilities scaling off Spell Damage.
- Flame Talent: This passive ability has been renamed to "Destructive Ancestry." Also, in addition to the current benefit it now increases your Frost and Shock Damage by 0/1/2%.
- Fixed an issue where Siege Weapons damage could be increased by various passives that increase damage done, such as Mighty and Destructive Ancestry.
- Destructive Ancestry: Gain 7% Flame damage and 2% Frost and Shock Damage → Ruination: Increases your Weapon and Spell Damage by 258.
- Developer Comment: Dark Elves are notoriously well known for their ability to wield blade or magic, yet their previous passives heavily favored the magic portion and outclassed many other Magicka races to boot. We wanted to improve their natural diversity by allowing them to sufficiently tackle any role by granting them more well-rounded bonuses for Magicka and Stamina. Their damage compared to a pure specialized race is slightly less, but with the added bonus of utility from their additional bonus to their other resource pool.
