Waterfall flowing into the Lorais

The Lorais River[UOL 1] is a waterway in Daenia that flows from the cliffs of Daggerfall eastward into the Illiac Bay.[1] It runs through the whole city and is home to fish such as Brook Trouts, Catfish, and Warmouths.[2][3] The main source starts in the mountains next to Daggerfall Castle, flowing through the Trade District and reaching Daggerfall's eastern gates. The other tributary starts at the waterfall at Baelborne Rock and flows south besides The Lady stone and Ilessan Tower to meet the rest of the stream, forming a small island and wrapping around to combine into one stream flowing east. The estuary of the river flows out into the ocean to the east, powering Deleyn's Mill.[2] It is said that the river sings as it passes through Daggerfall, and those who listen closely can hear the music.[UOL 1]

Circa 2E 582, a werewolf was murdering citizens at the Lorais River.[1] This caused the river to smell like wet fur at the time, resulting in confusion amongst the townsfolk.[4]

Notes[edit]

  • Lorais is also a female Altmer name,[5] but it is unknown if it shares any connection to the Lorais River.
