Lake Hlaalu is a lake in southwestern Morrowind, in the western part of the Deshaan region. The city of Narsis, capital of House Hlaalu, is situated on its southern banks.[1] Lake Hlaalu is used by Narsis as its water source.[2] It is named for the Great House Hlaalu. Lake fish typically found in Deshaan can be found in Lake Hlaalu, such as Gourami, the Ide, and the rare Mud Lamprey and Old Man Gar.[3]
On the lake's eastern shore is an old ruin called the Lake Hlaalu Retreat. It contains a magically-embued crafting site, one of many all over Tamriel. As theorized by the Khajiit adventurer, Pacrooti, they are created by master craftworkers, who at the height of their artistry, manifest their abilities and infuse them into their stations, so that any item crafted there would have the same quality as their original works.[4]
