Damard Dufort was a Breton count of House Dufort, who resided in Castle Navire in High Isle. He was the brother of Duchess Elea Dufort and also her court mage. The Vestige traveled to Castle Navire, investigating the Ascendant Order, and questioned Dufort, if he had any information to share. Dufort expressed suspicion of the druids of High Isle, believing that the storm that caused ships to go missing was created by environmental magic.[1] Later, Elea was abducted by her steward, who was revealed to be under orders by Damard. The Vestige rescurd Elea and it was revealed that Damard was secretly the Ascendant Magus, the second-in-command of the Order. Elea was shocked to learn that her own brother was involved with the Order.[2] Damard would later kidnap Lady Arabelle Davaux, with the Vestige rescuing Lady Arabelle and killing Dufort, halting the Ascendant Order's plans.[3] Elea later expressed regret over the loss of her brother, but she realized there was no other way.[4]
