User talk:Lordsword 8
Hi, Lordsword 8, welcome to UESPWiki! Thanks for volunteering to tackle the Tamriel dictionary pages, and all the other fixes you've been doing!
I've created a new Tamriel Flora section for you to add those plant entries. I set it up similarly to the other Tamriel sections, under the assumption that eventually we might be able to fill it up enough to justify having separate pages for each letter of the alphabet. There are a pretty large number of plants, especially including all Elder Scrolls games and all expansions. And we've been hoping for a while to get screenshots of each plant, which would then be a nice addition to the Flora pages.
So far, I just created the page Tamriel:Flora D and added the Domica Redwort entry there to show how you could set up the pages. If you get into other letters, all you need to do to start a page is click on its red link and then add {{Tamriel Flora Header}}
to the top of the page. Let me know if you have any other questions! --NepheleTalk 13:48, 11 April 2007 (EDT)
- Thanks very much for that, Ill also have a go at getting some Images if I have time -Lordsword 8 13:51, 11 April 2007 (EDT)

- Images would be great, too. You might want to look over Help:Images first for some tips on how to do good screenshots and how to upload them to the site. --NepheleTalk 13:53, 11 April 2007 (EDT)

- One thing you should change when making your screenshots - Use the "TM" command (for Toggle Menus), before taking shots. This will get rid of the menus and cursors that appear in your screenshots. Also, it's best to do outdoor screenshots on a clear day, rather than at night, because it's kind of hard to see in the images you've uploaded. You might also consider adjusting your gamma settings - particularly if you do any interior shots later. The images need much more brightess and contrast to look good on a website. --TheRealLurlock Talk 21:19, 18 April 2007 (EDT)

Dealing with Vandals[edit]
Generally the easiest way to deal with them is just to revert the damages. After that, simply go to UESPWiki:Warnings and select the relevant warning and enter the users name. You don't have to be an admin to dish out warnings. --Ratwar 15:00, 19 April 2007 (EDT)

Cluttering Links[edit]
With regards to Shivering:The Cold Flame of Agnon I just wanted to point out UESPWiki's guidelines about links. Basically, a link should only be added the first time a topic is mentioned in a section. If you add a link every time a topic is mentioned all the blue text can be distracting to readers and makes it harder for most readers to read the section. So Albino Mudcrab's edit to remove redundant links was actually in keeping with the wiki recommendations. --NepheleTalk 13:11, 28 May 2007 (EDT)
- Sorry about that, I didnt know about that, my mistake. I wont do it again! :) -Lordsword 8 13:57, 29 May 2007 (EDT)
