Checking by IP Addresses?[edit]
I wasn't able to find any specific answers to this, but a series of edits by this anonymous editor made me think I should pose the question. Is it okay for IP addresses to mark things as checked in projects, or does it have to be a registered editor? I'm assuming it should be a registered editor to ensure that it's only one person doing it, as well as to promote a degree of familiarity with the wiki. - I know that, as far as SRQRP, actual users are preferred. Not for credit or authorship, but for clarification, comments or questions later on.--Beezer1029 (talk) 14:26, 22 August 2014 (GMT)
- I would agree with Beezer's assessment. It's great that the IP wants to help, but to participate in projects, I'd say they should get an account so that we have somewhere reliable to contact them, since IPs can change. – Robin Hood (talk) 15:26, 22 August 2014 (GMT)
No Online Projects?[edit]
So I don't know if we're all just too busy still playing ESO to have bothered (guilty as charged), but there's still a decent backlog of things that need a fair bit of cleanup. A lot of quests and NPCs have the bare minimum of skeleton pages, and enemies, from "trash mobs" to bosses, have little to no information on them concerning level, health, location, etc. (which is admittedly not easy when numerous changes keep being made to the game's level scaling system, and numerous bosses have three different versions because of Cadwell's Silver and Gold). I feel as though a few dedicated Online projects might be good first step to keeping the UESP up to date whenever Zenimax rolls out changes. Schiffy(Talk) 00:18, 15 June 2016 (UTC)
- Bumping the topic, because the Community Portal discussion was archived, but it would be really great to start an ESO project at some point. Tib (talk) 14:32, 11 August 2016 (UTC)
New Online Projects[edit]
Hey all. Um... I am just letting whoever know this -but, a lot of the NPCs are still minimal templated. If there's a project involving updating these (or ESO in general) sign me up? Timeoin (talk) 07:50, 21 September 2017 (UTC)
- We only have a http://en.uesp.net/wiki/UESPWiki:Online_Quest_Project which was started quite recently. There's been some serious slacking regarding ESO projects! :D Tib (talk) 13:38, 22 September 2017 (UTC)
