Asian Market Version of The Elder Scrolls: Legends Shutting Down — October 29, 2020
In what has been a year of bad news for The Elder Scrolls: Legends, the Asian market version of the game has announced that it is shutting down on December 31st. With just two months left before final shutdown, the developers have provided a simple timeline for the closure:
- Until December 30th existing players can access the game as before.
- Hero Pass Season 5 will start on October 29th. This Hero Pass will be available to all existing players for free.
- Beginning October 29, existing players will receive more rewards in game.
- Beginning October 29 players will no longer be able to download the game client in the App Store and Google Play Store, buy in-game currency, or register new accounts.
- The server will be shut down on December 31, 2020, at this point players will no longer be able to access The Elder Scrolls: Legends (Asia).
- After December 31st they will accept refund requests for unused Crown Coins acquired via purchases.
-
- The refund processing time is from December 31, 2020 to January 31, 2021 (a one month time window)
- Only unused Crown Coins bought after March 12, 2020 can be refunded. Crown Coins obtained as in-game rewards cannot be refunded.
As Legends Asia was the only version of the game still receiving active development, this may indicate that the main version of Legends, which has only been receiving maintenance support since December 6th of of 2019, may soon face a similar shutdown. As Legends requires an online connection to play the game, this will likely result in the end of Legends whenever they do end official support.
