Movarth Piquine[edit]
Isn't it that the priest himself turn Movarth to a vampire? — Unsigned comment by 209.85.224.86 (talk) at 18:08 on 2 January 2012
- movarth was indeed the same guy who got bit by the priest but an error exists, he was bitten by cyodilic vampire not a volkihar but the vampire type he is in the game is a volkihar, either a honest mistake or bethesda being lazy again such as when they decided to reuse the same vampire game mechanic from oblivion. 109.151.19.4 18:13, 2 January 2012 (UTC)

- I dont see the need to create a whole new race just for one single vampire. This is just a situation of it being a game. There are none of the other Khajiit in the game, but Im sure realistically there would be. --Saelune 11:01, 4 May 2012 (UTC)
Movarth Piquine Respawns?[edit]
He has respawned several times for me since completing the quest to kill him. I wasn't sure if I should add this to the page or not, as it may just be a glitch on my end. I didn't think named NPC respawned? Also when he resists my illusions it calls him 'Master Volkihar Vampire' but it may have done this originally too im not sure. - This behaviour is shared by Krev the Skinner too. I believe it's because both NPCs are generated randomly, race, gender, everything.--201.1.197.1 01:48, 25 February 2012 (UTC)
- This is probably due to the fact that he's actually just a renamed boss for the area. ABCface◥ 13:45, 28 July 2012 (UTC)
- Yes, but is this necessarily a bug (I.E. not intended by the game developers) or a feature? Is the ability to come back from the dead perhaps the power of the bloodline of vampires he comes from? Considering the Jarl was certain he'd been killed a long time before, it does bear thinking about.174.28.227.60 04:21, 13 April 2020 (GMT)

Dawnguard changed his race[edit]
In Dawnguard he is no Dunmer anymore. Should the picture be changed? — Unsigned comment by 85.181.35.57 (talk) at 00:13 on 13 August 2012
- The picture is only of one of the possibilitys. His race was always variant, nothing changed with Dawnguard. It is noted in the summary box. The Silencer speaksTalk 00:25, 13 August 2012 (UTC)

- Really? I always encountered him as Dunmer. Interesting. Anyways, he got the new Dawnguard Vampire Look now. Glowing eyes, bat-face etc. — Unsigned comment by 85.181.35.57 (talk) at 02:04 on 13 August 2012

- I know, dude. But he looks different then on the picture in the article anyways, even if he IS a dunmer in Dawnguard. Just wanted to point that out. Shouldnt we provide the reader with the most up to date information and therefore picture? I guess its more "canon" then the vanilla Movarth having a picture with the glowing eayes and stuff. — Unsigned comment by 85.181.35.57 (talk) at 03:13 on 13 August 2012

- Who cares if not all players have Dawnguard? If before installing Dawnguard this character can turn out looking like anything then why would anyone even care what picture is there? A picture of him means nothing to people without Dawnguard because he's just another radiant vampire.

- With Dawnguard installed his appearance doesn't vary. At all. Bethesda have given him his own set appearance in Dawnguard, even going so far as to give him a completely unique head model. The Movarth you see in Dawnguard is definitely a more official representation than the radiant one based on the fact alone that his appearance is actually consistent.--77.103.237.230 21:21, 6 September 2012 (EDT)

- I also think his picture should be updated, if for no other reason than that vampires have a much more distinctive look with Dawnguard installed (vampire armor, glowing eyes, bat-face). And I'm pretty sure he looked the same the first time I fought him as he did the second time (shaved head and face, white skin, bat-face), although of course that could be coincidence, but it also could mean that the poster above me is correct about Movarth now having a fixed appearance. As for the fact that not all players have Dawnguard, that doesn't change the fact that the most complete version of Skyrim includes Dawnguard, and that it makes more sense (to me at least) for the UESP to represent the most complete version of the game. - If someone tests it and finds that Movarth now has a set appearance, then we should change it but have the caption saying that that is his Dawnguard appearance. I personally believe that if a person has a radiant appearance and we put in a picture then people would want a picture for other radiant appearances as well which would fill up a page with pictures. As for the fact that not all players have Dawnguard, we should, unless a given person's appearance is radiant, have pictures from most common version of the game. Right now I believe that PS3 users don't have Dawnguard, which could or could not be a large group of people. Would anyone have a problem with a pre-Dawnguard picture and a post-Dawnguard picture on the page? Ad Intellige Mecum loqui 19:32, 22 September 2012 (GMT)

(←) Looking at game-data, it does appear as if his appearance is no longer determined by the template and is now set. It would need verification, but since this seems to be the case, it does make more sense to have an updated picture, since that version of him will be his appearance more often than any other. I would support having the Dawnguard version only, or both. — ABCface◥ 19:42, 22 September 2012 (GMT)
- If there is a distinct Dawnguard look for Movarth that is very different to how he appears in vanilla Skyrim, then that's a strong case for having both pictures. It's interesting and it will clear up any confusion.Ninepaw (talk) 10:16, 10 December 2012 (GMT)
