Skyrim talk:Argonian Ale Extraction
Taking Ale as Thane[edit]
I am already the Thane, but taking the ale still counts as stealing. Any idea? --FelixH 08:25, 30 January 2012 (UTC)
Not given[edit]
I just wanted to say Brenuin has never asked me to get him the Argonian Ale as far as I know. Does it show up in misc quests? I live in Whiterun and have had to put up with Brenuin's audio volume being loud whether I'm close to him or he's far away, but I've talked to him quite a bit, giving him money and such. But I'm 99.9% sure he never asked me to get some Argonian Ale for him. Anyone else not receive this small quest? — Unsigned comment by D. Gemini (talk • contribs) at 19:58 on 6 March 2012
- Yes, it should be a miscellaneous quest, and looking in the Creation Kit, I don't see any reason it wouldn't show up, but that doesn't mean it didn't. On the other hand, it's a pretty easy quest to forget. – Robin Hood↝talk 01:16, 7 March 2012 (UTC)
@ Detailed Walkthrough[edit]
1. In the evening hours Brenuin can be found inside The Bannered Mare, where he will give this quest, too. (Although he's talking as outside with saying something like : "In The Bannered Mare is that bottle…")
2. I do have the dialog option "Are you always drunk?" without giving him a coin, parallel to that option.
Should this be corrected? -- CompleCCity (talk) 19:07, 3 March 2014 (GMT)
Argonian Ale[edit]
The Argonian Ale, curiously, shows up in your Potions inventory, rather than Food, as you think it would.
The Ale can be pick pocketed off Brenuin after you've given it to him. It can then be rinsed through a Fence to remove the Stolen tag. I don't think the Argonian Ale ever respawns again inside The Bannered Mare after you've taken it, and I don't think Brenuin's quest is repeatable. This is one of the first Favor Quests I did, and the dialogue option to repeat the quest has never shown up again. When I ask Brenuin "Still thirsty?", he responds with "Not anymore, thanks to you, friend." The single bottle of Ale, however, seems to stay in his inventory forever afterwards.
This makes the bottle of Argonian Ale a truly unique item, as there only ever is one copy of it in the game. Just a bit of info for the Compulsive Collector type of gamer. Evil-i (talk) 03:38, 5 May 2015 (GMT)
