Detailed Walkthrough[edit]
An Obvious Exception[edit]
Upon entering a room to the southeast of Twilight Temple you will receive a message that "This room has not seen the rough use of some of the others. It looks like a place of meditation and prayer. Most of the current denizens seem to avoid this room. An obvious exception shuffles aimlessly in the south."
The obvious exception turns out to be a zombie called Volstok Violet. His desiccated flesh makes speech difficult, but he makes it clear that he needs you to retrieve a shadowkey from the temple and return it to him:
- "Help... sha... key... save me."
- What?
- "Shadow... twis... unlock... key... in temple. Save me?"
- A Shadowkey? Here?
- (The zombie nods with a sound like too–tight leather.)
- I'll bring you that key.
After Dawn and Dusk[edit]
To reach the shadowkey, the zombies in the room of dusk must be slain, which means retrieving the Scroll of Dusk from its home in the southernmost of the three scroll rooms near the entrance to the temple.
Once the four zombies are dealt with, the passage to Pergan Asuul, who resides towards the south, becomes open. The Twilight Shadowkey can be found on his corpse.
The Light Fantastic[edit]
Return to Volstok and talk to him again. When touched with the key, his body is first immersed in light and then returns as a living human:
- "I am Volstok Violet, merchant captain of Dragonstar.
You have undone Asuul's handiwork. I am grateful. If you come to Dragonstar, seek me out in the western half of the city.
I will then pay you handsomely in gold."
For the time-being, you receive 900XP.
Notes[edit]
- The final reward of 2,200 gold is only obtained after talking to Volstok in Dragonstar West.
