Palagrius has new orders. It seems that a vicious Colovian bear has been attacking travelers on the Gold Road. He'll give you detailed directions - to wit:
"The bear was last spotted along the Gold Road north of the city. Go by that road until the second bridge. After crossing it, turn left and go west across the Naharine River. Our witness claims that the bear makes his home under a big tree on a hill."
Quite how the witness got close enough to note the bear's genitalia remains unexplained. The directions are solid however. Leave Anvil via its main gate and follow the main road over the first two bridges. then walk to the top of the hill immediately to your southwest. The bear can be found patrolling around the corpse of a Dead Traveler. Kill it, and return to Palagrius for your payment.
