Inside the mine, you'll find Chief Urzikh questioning a survivor:

Chief Urzikh: "You there! Are there other survivors? Where's foreman Mugha?"

Yagut: "I haven't seen Mugha since the cave-in, chief. The rest are in hiding! The mines are completely overrun."

Chief Urzikh: "All right. Search the tunnels! Let's find the others."

Speak to him and he'll add some more info:

"By Mauloch, I've never seen anything like these creatures! Horrible scuttling things and tiny, shriveled monsters.
There's not enough iron in ten strongholds to fight off beasts like that!"

Dialogue

After the quest, if you return to the stronghold and talk to him he will say:
