Shade of Arum-Khal (Sentinel)

The Shades of Arum-Khal are fragments of Arum-Khal's being which he uses to protect his phylacteries within the Hidden Moon Crypts. You will have to face two of them, and each provide their own challenges.

Skills and Abilities

Shade Sentinel

Slice

A basic melee attack that inflicts physical damage.

Magic Dagger

A ranged attack where the sentinel throws a magical shadow dagger at the target.

Shadow Slice

The sentinel teleports behind the target and strikes at them. This attack an be interrupted to knock the sentinel off balance.

Grasping Void

A shadowy hand picks the target up and then slams them into the ground.

Abyss

The sentinel fires a purple AoE attack in the form of a column that moves toward the target. This attack can be interrupted to set the sentinel off-balance.

Shadow Mage

Fright Force

A basic ranged magical attack.

Pool of Shadow

The enemy slams their staff into the ground, creating a pool of dark energy all around them, indicated by a circular AoE, which lingers for a time and deals constant damage when inside.

Shadeway

The enemy casts a spell that launches two slow and heavier-hitting projectiles. This can be interrupted to set the enemy off-balance.

Shadowy Duplicate

The enemy teleports a short distance away, leaving a Shadow in their place. The shadow will cast Fright Force dealing minor magic damage until it is killed. When killed, it explodes and leaves a Pool of Shadow in its place.

Quest-Related Events

The shade sentinel shade is in Jode's Vault of Contrition. When it notices you enter the chamber:

Shade of Arum-Khal: "Come, fool, give your soul to me!"

After this shade appears, it will be surprised by Shando-ri's appearance:

Shade of Arum-Khal: "Shando! How did you—?"

<Shando-ri strikes the shade with the Moonlight Blade.>

Shando-ri: "Through faith and loyalty, brother."

The shadow mage shade is in Jone's Vault of Repentance.

When it notices you enter the chamber:

Shade of Arum-Khal: "Azurah-blessed! Your soul belongs to the Void!"

Once the body is destroyed, it will appear by the nearby phylactery, only to be stopped by Shando-ri:

Shade of Arum-Khal: "Fools! Servants of a false queen! You will scream for mercy when I—!"
