Mother Ciannait

Mother Ciannait is the leader of the Icereach Coven who have been performing powerful and complex storm rituals on the Island on the behalf of a mysterious patron.

She is the final boss of the dungeon and is supported by the surviving sisters who have been encountered through the keep: Gohlla, Hiti, Bani and Maefyn.

She is also the namesake of the Mother Ciannait set and the basis of a trophy and bust.

Spells and Abilities

During the final boss fight, Mother Ciannait isn't directly involved for the first 80% of the fight, as she instead supervises and directs the sisters below. Every time a sister is forced to activate a shield to prevent them from being slain, 10% is removed from Mother Ciannait's max health bar. Upon reaching the 20% threshold, Mother Ciannait teleports into the arena to cast her only ability:

Sundered Sky

With the help from the sisters, Mother Ciannait begins channeling magic into an orb of blue energy that quickly grows in size and power in the center of the arena. During this entire process, wild magic swirls across the arena, dealing continuous very high magical damage that cannot be avoided and must be heal through. Mother Ciannait must be slain before this ability is completed otherwise it becomes a one-hit kill.

Quest-Related Events

As you approach the courtyard where the ritual is being performed, you will overhear the surviving coven members talk among themselves.

Sister Hiti: "They killed Skelga! Right in front of me!"

Sister Gohlla: "Settle, Hiti. You'll disturb the ritual! It must be perfect. Isn't that right, mother?"

Mother Ciannait "It is, dear one. Our patron's terms were fair, Hiti. If we wish to reap the reward, we must deliver what he desires."

Once you arrive in the courtyard, Cainnait and her fellow witches will be looking down at you from the stone ledge.

Mother Ciannait "Ah, the castaways. Pity you had to come all this way only to die at our hands. Come sisters. Let's put an end to their sad tale."

Idling before engaging in combat

"You came all this way, only to hesitate now? Pitiful."

"Come now, dears. Do you really intend to make us wait?"

"Having second thoughts? I certainly would."

"Look, dears. They linger on our threshold like babes in a basket. Adorable, aren't they?"

The four sisters will teleport down and the fight will begin. Mother Cainnait will shout out orders to whichever sister is active.

Sister Gohlla

"Gohlla, cool down our guests, won't you?"

"Scatter them to the winds, Gohlla!"

Send them to an icy grave, Gohlla."

"Gohlla! Chill them to the bone!"

Sister Hiti

"Leave nothing but ashes, Hiti!"

"Hiti! Set a fire in their soul!"

"Hiti! Burn them all!"

"Set them ablaze, Hiti!"

Sister Bani

"They seek death, Bani. Give it to them."

"Bani, give these fools a taste of the Dark Arts."

"Looking for new playthings, Bani? They'll be dead soon enough."

"Bani, their flesh is yours."

Sister Maefyn

"Call down the lightning, Maefyn!"

"Shock them to submission, Maefyn!"

"Show them the storm's fury, Maefyn!"

"Maefyn! Unleash your thunderbolts!"

"Sisters! Let me wield the Coven's wrath!"

"Icereach sisters, give me strength!"

"Gohlla, Hiti, Bani, Maefyn, your power flows through me!"

"Unite behind me, sisters! Let me channel your power!"

"Is that all? Hmph. It seems we overestimated them, dears."

	No Rest for the Wicked	50	Defeat all encounters in addition to Kjarg the Tuskscraper, Sister Skelga, Vearogh the Shambler, the Stormborn Revenant, and the Icereach Coven after burning the witches' wicker totem in Veteran Icereach within 30 minutes without suffering a group member death.
	Reachman Slayer	10	Defeat 200 Reachman warriors in Veteran Icereach.
	Eye of the Storm	10	Defeat the Icereach Coven with one member of the group afflicted by all the witches' signature spells in Veteran Icereach.
	Prodigious Pacification	10	When fighting the Icereach Coven on Hard Mode in Veteran Icereach, let Gohlla's Giant deliver the final blow to each sister while in their enraged state.
