Irrai guiding you through the building

Before you can speak with Irrai, you must summon her. Find the Loriasel Tablet and interact with it.

<The spidery script upon the tablet seems to flicker when you don't look at it directly.>
I think I'm supposed to say "Irrai."
<The tablet pulses with power.>

Irrai appears.

Irrai: "Here, again? I mean … yes, mortal?"

Speaking to her:

"Greetings, outsider. As the will of my Prince is eternal, I heed your call."
Who is your Prince?
"Azura. You know of Azura, don't you? "Irrai the Fleet," she named me.
But that was long ago. This shriveled vessel is but a shadow of my former glory. My wings ache to soar the skies of Oblivion once more."
I'm looking for a way into Laeloria.
"Vastarie pierced the seal with a relic known as the Twilit Heart. It still stands before the gates of Laeloria, bereft of magical energies.
You'll need to feed it souls. And with all these Daedra about, you'll have your pick."
How would I do that?
"The wizard Vastarie kept quite the stock of sigil geodes, which I suppose should do.
There are still some around. I can smell them from here."

Asking her further questions:

Do you remember Vastarie?
"Of course, she was the last to summon me. Together, we opened the ruins of Laeloria. She ventured in with her noble companions.
I watched them die in a flood of Daedra. It was all I could do to escape and seal the ruin … Vastarie's final command."
Why are you helping me?
"Ignoring the fact that my Prince's unbreakable will compels me to open the way to Laeloria, despite the unspeakably bloody terror to greet you on the other side?"
Yes.
"You could be Molag Bal himself for all I know. I'd still help you open the door, Lord of Brutality or not.
You aren't him, are you?"
Of course not.
"Good, good.
I'd expect the Harvester of Souls to be taller."
[Lie] I am. And I'm very disappointed in you, Irrai.
"No you're not. Not enough horns.
And you don't smell of rotten meat. Molag Bal has terrible hygiene, even a scamp knows that."
Why would you help Molag Bal?
"Try waiting in a rock until someone calls your name. Then, watch them reduced to a smear of viscera the moment you do what they've asked you to do. You try to find joy where you can.
The joy of aiding another, of course."

She will fly over to the sigil geodes:

Irrai: "Here are the sigil geodes. A little dusty, but they'll do."

Speaking to her before picking up the geode from the reliquary:

"Well? You should collect the sigil geode, yes?"

After picking it up:

Irrai: "Quite simple to use. Point it at the Daedra you want to absorb and the sigil geode does the rest."

Irrai will instruct you on how to use the sigil geode.

"A pretty stone, yes? But it will remain dull as an old torture puppet until you've filled it with Daedric souls".
How do I fill the sigil geode?
"Point it at any Daedra and concentrate. Your target will be mesmerized by its faceted glow, until the hapless fool is drawn into the stone.
And … take care with your aim."
Will it work upon any Daedra?
"Yes … but only the least of them. It won't work on a Daedric Prince, if that's what you're thinking."
Will it work on you?
"It might work. But if you tried, who would help you open Laeloria?
The impertinence."

Speak with Irrai after filling the geode.

"What is your will, outsider?"
I filled the sigil geode. What now?
"The Twilit Heart stands before the entrance to Laeloria. When Molag Bal's servants first invaded, this place was known as Twyllvarlais, the "Well of Stars." Now it's the "Throat of Darkness."
The Ayleid had such colorful names, don't you think?"

Use the geodes and Irrai will draw power from the heart:

Irrai: "Yes, that's it! The Twilit Heart thirsts for souls!"
Irrai: "And if I twist, just so …."
Irrai: "The power! I'd forgotten how it feels!"
Irrai: "Follow, outsider. Come see my Prince's glorious domain!"

Inside Laeloria, you and Irrai will encounter the still very alive and very angry Vastarie.

You learn that Irrai once betrayed the wizard and lured her into this trap, as she planned to do with you.

Irrai: "Vastarie! You live?"
Vastarie: "Yes, Irrai. Despite your efforts!"
Irrai: "My Prince's children were legion! They should have overwhelmed you!"
Vastarie: "Molag Bal's chattel are nothing to me."
Irrai: "Blasphemy!"
Vastarie: "Stranger! If you're a foe to Molag Bal, stand with me!"
Irrai: "Fools! I'll feast upon your eyes!"

<Once you get Irrai to low health>

Irrai: "No! You won't defeat me again!"
Vastarie: "You've nowhere to fly, fiend! You can't escape me!"

Help Vastarie battle the treacherous Daedra. Once sufficiently weakened, the winged twilight will try to escape and Vastarie follows her around the room to finally pin her down.

When you talk to Irrai, she will be defiant.

"You won't escape! You'll die in here, like the others!"

You will have the choice of either imprisoning her in the Sigil Geode or killing her outright, though you can ask her some questions before making the decision.

"It doesn't matter what you do to me. You'll be dead, or trapped for a thousand years!"
Why would you betray your Prince?
"Molag Bal is my Prince, you fool! I let Vastarie believe I was Azura's servant, just as I let you believe.
I led you into Coldharbour's grasp. Morsels for the God of Schemes, to pick from between his teeth."
If the Main Quest has not been completed:
If the Main Quest has been completed:
I already escaped Coldharbour. I can do it again.
"You can never truly escape Coldharbour, soul shriven. My Prince always gets what he wants. If you escaped, it's because he allowed it."
When I fought Molag Bal, I broke a few of those teeth.
"My Prince is Endless. No mortal can defeat him.
I do hope you find Culanwe and gaze upon the instruments of her torment. One day it will be you upon the rending pinions, and I will bask in your boundless woe."

If you decide to continue talking, you can ask her about her feelings on imprisonment:

Won't you care if I imprison you in the sigil geode?
"Do it! I've spent countless centuries imprisoned in a tablet. That stone would be a delightful change of scenery.
Perhaps the banekin will pick it from your corpse and bring me to my Prince. Wouldn't that be wonderful?"
<Imprison Irrai in the sigil geode.>
<Kill Irrai.>
