Before Labor Dispute is complete, he will be sad his friends are either killed or taken by the Stormfists:

"Hjolard sad. All my friends are gone."

After Labor Dispute is complete, he will be happy that Stormfists are gone:

"The bad Nords are gone now and Hjolard is very happy!"

Notes

• He will thank you for driving the Stormfists off after completing Labor Dispute and before you complete Mystery Metal. This is an oversight, as the Stormfists still wander the mine during that period.
