Everald Gardet

Everald Gardet is a Breton member of the Fighters Guild and Stirk Fellowship who can be found at the Everlasting Fair. He was part of the squad that was investigating the area for Worm Cult activity, only to get caught up in the Fair's shenanigans and was transformed into a wardrobe. To be specific, a High Elf Armoire, Winged.

Dialogue[edit]

If Everald is spoken to before starting the quest, he will complain:

"The only thing worse than being a wardrobe is being a useless wardrobe. My doors won't even open!"

Quest-Related Events[edit]

After speaking with Sergeant Alydine, you learn that several members of her squad became trapped in the fair and are unable to leave. She suggests you search for their Alfiq scout Sashii at the fair.

Everald Gardet's true form

The incongruous wardrobe will call out as you approach:

Everald Gardet: "Hello? Sergeant Alydine? Is that you?"

Speak with the wardrobe to learn its story:

"Oh, you're not Sergeant Alydine. I don't think. It's hard to tell in here.
I think I'm stuck inside a wardrobe. I need some help, please!"
It doesn't sound like you're stuck inside. I think the fair's magic transformed you.
"Oh, that's … deeply disappointing. You're saying I came to a magic fair and all I got turned into was a mundane wardrobe?
I guess that explains why I can't see or move. I should have listened to Sergeant Alydine when she ordered us to retreat."
Sergeant Alydine asked me to find Sashii and the rest of your squad.
"That's good. I don't know what happened to Sashii, though. All I remember is a strange woman who said she loved my outfit. I told her I liked having beautiful things in my wardrobe. She laughed, and then this happened.
A little joke, I guess. On me."

He will be returned to his Breton form after the quest is completed:

"I suppose I should head back to Sunport. Let Sergeant Alydine know I'm all right."

Bugs[edit]

  • Often the wardrobe model disappears and Everald Gardet is a strip of purple light you can talk to.
  • After he was restored to Breton form at the end of the quest, his appearance reverts if you visit the area later. ?
