Name[edit]

The wiki has many references to "Slipstream Realms," this term was only used in a Loremaster's Archive in response to a fan question that coined "Slipstream." Outside of lore specifically relevant to that interview, I think "Slipstream Realm" should be replaced with the term "Pocket Universe" from the Battlespire Athenaeum, which is more official. Thoughts? --TheRockWithAMedicineCupOnHisHead (talk) 10:07, 31 March 2023 (UTC)

pocket universe in Battlespire Athenaeum is not capitalized and stated to be one of many iirc. Loremaster's Archive's Slipstream Realm is capitalized and refers to that specific one. Sure, the loremaster archive also states that there are other places like that but specifically calls them 'Slipstream Realms' rather than the Slipstream Realm. As for more/less official. Both are official products released by Zenimax/Bethesda- so neither is more official than other.Tyrvarion (talk) 10:13, 31 March 2023 (UTC)
I would really beg to differ. The use of "Slipstream Realm" in this context is about as real as a fan's usertag being considered official lore, since the loremaster comment's use of it is in response to a fan question which calls it Slipstream. In fact, UESP pages called Battlespire's home dimension a "Slipstream Realm" before the question was even asked (https://en.uesp.net/w/index.php?title=Lore:Battlespire&oldid=1168292), when there was no source for its use, which the question asker most likely pulled from when asking the question. Which is certainly "original research" by our modern standards. There's no good reason to use this one instead of the correct term from Battlespire's actual development period.
While the alternative terms "pocket universe" and "pocket dimension" are indeed uncapitalized, they used far more often by far more sources. --TheRockWithAMedicineCupOnHisHead (talk) 03:12, 31 October 2024 (UTC)
Now that we do have a source for the Slipstream Realm via the answer in said LA, I don't see any point in changing anything? Even if we only get a proper name for something once, it's better to use the proper name rather than generic realm classifications like pocket dimension and pocket universe which are used in other contexts, with pocket dimension being used in reference to the Infinite Panopticon, and pocket universe being used in reference to Jagar Tharn's prison for Uriel VII.
