Same blade?[edit]

Why exactly are these two weapons presumed to be different incarnations of the same thing? I'm aware that items often change a bit between games, but these two seem different enough that they should be considered two different blades both produced by the same clan, and thus similarly named and found in similar places, not the same weapon. -Moonshadow101 (talk) 06:09, 14 April 2013 (GMT)

Every single other weapon that has the exact same name across games has been the same. They wouldn't create two lore important weapons with the same name, they would have found some other name for it otherwise. We have no real evidence they aren't the same, given the historical precedent of items appearing across games. And item with the same name, appearing in the same location and being the same type of weapon across two games is strong evidence for being the same exact item. Bloodskal[edit]

I don't believe there is such a thing as a Bloodskal Clan and it's reference may need to be removed. Bloodskal is the name given to those outsiders who have earned the honor of the title and befriended the Skaal. Since they are not Skaal they would not be buried in a Skaal family barrow but rather a barrow created specifically for them. This explains why in Dragonborn the inhabitants of Raven Rock were unable to find any information on the Bloodskal Clan. Reference: [1]--Huntershound (talk) 15:39, 12 August 2013 (GMT)

Please read the page, this is explained in the notes. —Legoless (talk) 19:25, 12 August 2013 (GMT)
Thank you, I accidentally posted on the Artifacts:B talk page and didn't notice that at first. However I'm having trouble accepting that approach without any reference source to back it up. Obviously the absence of evidence isn't evidence to the contrary so I will attempt to dig further and see what I can find. Again I'd like to thank you for your assistance.--Huntershound (talk) 19:44, 13 August 2013 (GMT)
I'm not sure I understand what the problem is? Blodskaal is different from Bloodskal. The Bloodskal Clan was described as the creators and owners of the blade in dragonborn and hints at it in Bloodmoon. What is the issue? Jeancey (talk) 20:07, 13 August 2013 (GMT)
Blodskaal*, actually. A significant enough difference in spelling.Legoless (talk) 20:33, 13 August 2013 (GMT)
I sincerely apologize, I have misread Blodskaal every time since my first play through of Bloodmoon until just this instance. Even reading it off of the wiki I still read it as Bloodskaal with the only difference being the a. Honest mistake on my part, sorry for wasting your time.--Huntershound (talk) 23:01, 13 August 2013 (GMT)
