Cal

Cal is a Dark Elf alchemist who owns and runs the Bravil Butcher, a shop near the central plaza.

He rises at 6am every day and eats breakfast for two hours, then goes downstairs to open the shop. He closes up at 8pm and goes upstairs to eat dinner with his wife for two hours, then they go to bed.

Cal wears a butcher's apron, laced leather pants, and rough leather shoes; he carries a meat cleaver and a key to the shop.

He lives in a spacious apartment above the Bravil Butcher with his wife Eswen. It consists of two large rooms - one is a combination living/dining space with a table, hearth, and pantry; the other is a bedroom with a double bed, alcove for bathing, a table that serves as a desk, and two cabinets for storing clothing. Since Eswen spends all her time there, the place is clean and decorated with many rugs, tapestries, and even a curtain by the bed.

Cal is always happy to see new customers: "I bet I know why you're here. You smelled the sweet smell of quality meat as you passed by my door, didn't you? A finer selection of fresh meat you won't find anywhere else! Beef! Ham! Mutton! I've got it all!" You may notice a fly buzzing around, which leads to a rather amusing exchange:

"...is... what... Oh, that?! No, of course not! That's just... one of my secret spices that add to the already magnificent flavour of -"

I'm pretty sure that's a fly...

"I assure you, it isn't! Alright, I'll tell you, it's an Ironwood Nut! But, you mustn't tell my secret to anyone -"

That 'nut' just flew away...

"It... just... flew... Okay, listen you! You tell anyone about this, and I'll cut you like a box!"
