Skyrim talk:Sell Stalhrim Armor and Weapons to Ancarion
Merge[edit]
This article had a merge tag added to it in the early days, but that was later removed by another editor. It then had the tag added again by a third editor, but that editor then realized what had happened before and removed their own tag. I didn't go through the entire history, so for all I know, there may be even more merge proposals. In any event, I feel this deserves more of a discussion than simply adding and removing the tag.
The main reason I think this article should be moved is that pretty much everything on this page that's purported to be a part of this quest is, in fact, under A New Source of Stalhrim in the CK. There is absolutely no quest in the CK named "Sell Stalhrim Armor and Weapons to Ancarion"—that's actually a quest objective in DLC2SV02AncarionMerchant, which is really just an untitled maintenance "quest" (much like dialogue "quests"). Furthermore, if you go to that quest in the CK, it also doesn't have any of the dialogue listed on this page. That dialogue is all under A New Source of Stalhrim in the CK. The only dialogue under this quest is the player asking "Shall we do business?" to which Ancarion replies "What do you have for me?", along with a few lines for after you're done trading with him. That's it! So, my argument is that this quest page is an artifact of however HotnBOThered created pages back in 2012. It probably should never have been created at all, much less kept all these years. – Robin Hood (talk) 15:50, 14 October 2024 (UTC)
- This is an optional/missable task but we might as well merge. I think the main reason for keeping it split is that the quest stage in question (successfully "doing business" with him once) was bugged for a lot of players and stuck around in their journal as a misc objective long after A New Source of Stalhrim ended, so conceptually it is quite separate. Not sure if that's still an issue in current versions.
- I would suggest keeping this page as a redirect, similar to e.g. Enter the Eliminator and Bad Medicine in Oblivion. —Legoless (talk) 16:05, 14 October 2024 (UTC)
