Description[edit]

Original texture was named "art/fixture/breton/interiorclutter/textures/bre_inc_map_tamriel0001_d.dds" (despite it being not-Breton and not-a-map-of-Tamriel).

Before appearing as static clutter decoration across ESO's zones, this map originated from the development of The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion, and was an earlier iteration of the game's map. The city of Sutch can be seen on the map, as can the Eight Islands which were a previous iteration of the final game's City Isle, all of which were cut from the final game. This makes the map's appearance in ESO a bit of an oddity. It also helps canonize the Imperial City being spread across isles (somehow historically, or otherwise), but the in-world reason for this depiction is unknown. Of note, a character in Oblivion still refers to the Eight Islands, as does a book in Oblivion, leading further credence to the idea.
